Environmental Health & Safety
The mission of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is to develop and implement environmental and occupational health and safety programs to support the university’s teaching, research, and service to the community. The EHS responsibilities are distributed among five areas: Environmental Protection, Laboratory Safety, Occupational Safety, Public Health, and Radiation/Laser Safety.
Come join EHS for an early lunch during our Safe-Science Series in partnership with the Teaching, Learning, & Professional Development Center (TLPDC). These sessions will provide guidance on everyday work area management tasks. Sessions are open to faculty, staff and student workers. Lunch will be provided for those who register at least three days prior to each workshop.
Session: BSCs, fume hoods, and glove boxes – Oh my! - Friday November 9, 2018 11AM-12PM
In this session, we'll be discussing engineering controls. This session is for personnel who have equipment generically called a “hood” in your lab or are looking to procure equipment. Selecting equipment with the proper features for your procedures is vital to protecting lab personnel and your research. EHS is here to help you make sure you select the right tool for the job and know how to use it properly.
Register for both events through the TLPDC Events page http://events.tlpd.ttu.edu.
